Laura Wheeler
Laura Wheeler has spent her life singing, playing, and creating music! She has taught music privately within the Surrey, Abbotsford, and North Vancouver area for since 2015 and has now based her studio exclusively out of Stepping Stone Music Company.
She completed her diploma in Jazz Studies from Capilano Univeristy with a major in voice. With an extensive background in Choral and Jazz Laura loves to foster a love of all styles of music in her students. For those students who want to perform Laura will happily connect them with an open mic and support their musical journey any way she can.

Laura is the accompanist and assistant director for the Joy Vox Community Choir. She also sings and arranges music for the all women's ensemble Voce Destino. Laura plays trumpet in the Valley Brass Quintet, a local brass ensemble playing anything from Classical to Swing!
Laura currently writes music and performs in the Fraser Valley with Thistle Dew, a three part harmony folk band. And she is one of the leaders and songwriters for the unique and eclectic pop/funk/jazz band Gin & Tall Tales.

Fun Facts: Laura grew up in Alberta, but has lived in BC since 2010. Her first instrument was the handbells and her two of her most favorite things are peppermint tea and dark chocolate.
